With 72 miles of shoreline and famed crystal-clear waters, you will want to take in the lake in any season.  In the summer, the lake becomes a hub of activity, with opportunities for boating, fishing, swimming, and more. Tahoe City has several public beaches and marinas, making it easy to enjoy all that the lake has to offer. Public boat ramps can be found in Tahoe City at the Lake Forest ramp and on the north shore in Tahoe Vista. Tahoe Vista and Tahoe City each have a full-service marina.  The Tahoe Gal offers cruises on the lake year-round, North Tahoe Watersports offers parasailing tours, and sailboat cruises can all be found leaving the Tahoe City harbor as well.  At Tahoe Commons public Beach and adjacent pier, you can rent jet skis, kayaks or paddleboards for a day on the lake.  At Sunnyside, just south of Tahoe City, there is a smaller marina that caters to those on the water and rent everything from paddleboards to jet skis and wakeboard boats. In Homewood, two more marinas offer full services, boat sales and concierge boat valet services along with rentals.  The area's location also provides easy access to other nearby attractions, such as the Tahoe National Forest and the Desolation Wilderness.
